This convoluted, low-budget, Italian-made calamity received a well-deserved drubbing on MST3K. It is such an overt attempt to cash in on the James Bond films, it even stars Neil Connery, brother of guess who. Also in the cast are Bond alumni Bernard Lee ("Q"), Lois Maxwell (Miss Moneypenny), and Adolfo Celi (Largo in THUNDERBALL).

A SPECTRE-like organization tries to take control of the world's gold reserves. Meanwhile, Thayer (Celi), who's in charge of the operation, wants to kill his boss and take over the organization without anyone knowing, so he kidnaps a plastic surgeon (Connery the lesser) to transform one of Thayer's henchmen into a double of the head man. The plastic surgeon is a crackerjack hypnotist who's also very good at archery and hand-to-hand combat.

The storyline also involves a massive yacht with a crew of hot young women who double as kidnappers, torturers, assassins, nurses, and nuclear technicians. For no apparent reason, the ladies neutralize a company of military policemen, then change into cat outfits and disguise the police truck as a traveling casino.

The plot further includes radioactive rugs made by blind Turkish peasants, a giant de-magnetizing tower, and a German town populated by expert archers who don't mind putting their lives at risk by storming Thayer's mountaintop castle, which contains some kind of nuclear thingy as well as armed guards with even worse aim than Imperial Stormtroopers.

At least, I think that's the plot. Whatever the case, this one is still better than A VIEW TO A KILL.
